Local Policing

The crime figures supplied to us via PC Dee Faulkner are now being produced in a different format. Previously we were able to extract incident details just for Copythorne parish but the statistics are now only published for the whole beat area which includes Tatchbury, Bramshaw, Brook, Fritham and Minstead.

We are discussing with PC Faulkner whether the reports can revert to their original style.

In the meantime, the summary for the beat area for November is as follows:

  • 72 reported incidents during the month, which is fewer than for October
  • 1 robbery, unfortunately at Bartley Post Office. Two men arrested
  • 1 assault at a local residential establishment
  • 0 burglaries
  • 5 thefts, two involving drive-offs from a Forest petrol station. Man also arrested for stealing cut logs from the Forest
  • 8 thefts from motor vehicles, primarily in the Fritham, Bramshaw Wood, Pipers Wait and Bramble Hill Forest car parks
  • 8 road traffic incidents, two involving animal deaths or injury on Forest roads.

The Police remind residents to be extra vigilant when leaving properties unoccupied, to ensure that doors and windows are locked and that keys are removed from locks and placed out of sight.
