Affordable Housing:-

The following update was received by the Clerk to the Parish Council from Action Hampshire on 13th October 2015:

“The Hampshire Alliance for Rural Affordable Housing (HARAH) has made some progress in Copythorne parish. We are currently down to three sites which we are investigating further. We are waiting on some more formal comments from planning. We are hoping to organise a public consultation event once we get more formal comments from planning and the viability of the three sites has been assessed. We would like the event to be held in December but it may be early 2016 (it depends on how long it takes to get formal comments back from planning).

The drop in event will give residents an opportunity to comment on the sits and then we can find out which two sites would be most supported in the community for a scheme of 15 units (spread over 2 sites).”

A full statement on the progress of the Affordable Housing initiative is available on the Parish Council’s website:-

Bartley School, Winsor Road – Traffic Issues:-

An open forum was held during the Public participation session at the Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 27th October to discuss the current traffic situation outside the school following a request from many parishioners. A report on this forum will be in the December Parish News.

Parish Council – Flood Group:-

The Council has recently set up a Flood Group to regularly review and report on the flooding issues within the Parish. It is currently reviewing the Parish Flood Plan and will be making recommendations to the full Council early next year.

The Parish Council discusses all planning applications at each of its meetings – on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.  If you think you may be affected by an application, the Council would be pleased to hear your views to help form a response to the planning authority (either the New Forest National Park Authority or New Forest District Council).

Comments can be made to the Parish Council either by letter or in person in the public participation session at the start of each meeting.  Applications due to be considered at the next meeting can be found by clicking on Planning on the top menu on the Council’s website at:-

Planning is an important topic in any community and the Parish Council is always anxious that any development should comply fully with local policies.  Applicants are encouraged to use the pre-application advice service offered by both the New Forest National Park Authority and New Forest District Council.
