Act now to secure your vote at the European Parliamentary elections

VotingWith the European Parliamentary elections taking place on Thursday 22 May, Dave Yates, New Forest District Council’s chief executive and electoral registration officer, is urging voters to make sure they are registered to vote.

“People are talking about the elections, but you’ll only be able to have your say on who represents you in the European Parliament if you’re registered to vote” said Dave Yates.

Residents who are registered should by now have received their poll card. Anyone who has not received a poll card can contact the council on 023 8028 5133 or e-mail electoralservices@nfdc.gov.uk to check. Residents who find they are not registered have until Tuesday 6 May to register to enable them to vote on 22 May.

Registering is quick and simple. Simply visit newforest.gov.uk, view the information about the European Parliamentary Elections 2014 and download a voter registration form.

Alternatively residents may apply to vote by post. Postal vote application forms are also available to download from the council’s website. Completed postal vote applications must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 7 May.
