18. FINANCE MATTERS
Audit of 2008/09 accounts:
Members received a letter from John Murray following internal audit of the 2008/09 accounts. The accounts were in order and there were no financial matters to raise. However, the letter referred to the new 2008 version of “Governance and Accountability in Local Councils – A Practitioners Guide” (already in the Clerk’s possession) and the new edition of Arnold Baker’s “Local Council Administration”. Agreed, Clerk to purchase.

19. NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
A note from PC Mike Bemand referred to a proposed meeting for Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators on Wednesday 24 June 2009 (venue to be agreed). The aim was for Co-ordinators to meet and exchange information and to encourage new Neighbourhood Watch schemes to be set up. The Chairman was likely to be available to attend.
20. MEMBERS’ REPORTS
Councillor Samways:
A-board still on verge outside The Empress of Blandings. Hedge-cutting needed in Pollards Moor Road (eastwards from Vicarage Lane) and in Winsor Road (from Old Winsor Post Office towards the chapel). Tall grass causing sightline hazard at Cadnam roundabout. Agreed, Clerk to refer to Surveyor.
Councillor Moriarty:
No further contact with Surveyor regarding outstanding drainage issues at Bartley. Clerk to pursue.
Councillor Lady Kara Hawks:
Discarded cigarette-ends outside entrance to Parish Hall are unsightly. Clerk to raise with Hall Committee.
